Step aside, Step aside, the Astra has arrived....!

Here we go with another hatchback and this time its Vauxall/Opel duo to roll the dice. Vauxall has released new Astra GTC and by just looking at it, your heart should scream at the loudest "Oh damn! how could this be made any better?" Let me introduce you to the hottest hatchback to hit the roads in 2012, the Vauxall/Opel Astra GTC. The Astra is going compete head to head with VW Scirocco and Renault Megane. Renault of course spilled the beans first but then VW responded within a year with awesome Scirocco but now it seems as though the roads are going to be ruled by the sickest of all, the Astra.
The Vauxall/Opel has taken their Insignia and has completely redesigned the car so basically Astra shares a lot of components from its big brother Insignia. The suspension has been taken from the Insignia VXR which means this thing can seriously draw circles around Scirocco & Megane.
The production is going to start in 2012 with 4 power options. 1 Diesel and 3 petrol. Power output is ranged between 120 PS to 180 PS. Most powerful option is the 1.6 litre turbo with 180 PS. The diesel version is powered by 2.0 CDTi engine with a power output of 165PS .Among all of its rivals it is designed to be the most spacious one with a boot of capacity just over 200 litres.
The price for all this awesomeness is the  most resonable. The Astra GTC will cost around 18,000 pounds which is full 1,100 pounds cheaper than the base model of Scirocco. Just like before, the Vauxall Opel duo has tried to impress their customers with a lively interior but yet again it seems like the customers' faces are not happy. Black interior with red interior lighting, cheap plastic silver trim rather than alumium trim used today in most of the cars, it really looks like the interior styling by deja vu!
Do let us have your comments on that because it is the big one.....!

  1. well hatch back is good for handling, you can take turns much faster in a hatch back.
180 max Horse power is a bit disappointing, they should also make a version producing more than 200HP.
Interior is normal, same as other cars of these days, means nothing new.
