You think Nokia went up because of Symbian? Well, this is the truth that it was Symbian which took Nokia to its glory but now this old warrior is dying. This news is official from Nokia that their sales in 2011 has gone down by 20%. The Nokia’s share in New York stock exchange has gone down by 8% since the start of 2011. Reason being the competition between the companies and the OS they are using.
According to a report compiled few days ago by some convention related to telecom, it was revealed that Android has become the best OS choice of the customers which has given rise to the sales of HTC and Sony Ericsson Xperia series and all those smart phones which use android as their os. On number 2 is the famous Apple iPhone Mac and there is a tough competition between Windows and RIM for the third place.
It was also made public that sales of Symbian smartphones were going down since july 2010 but start of 2011 has proved really bad for vendors using Symbian OS. As a consequence, and it is also official from Nokia, that Nokia has formed a partnership with Microsoft and from now on Windows phone will be regarded as a high end Nokia smartphone.
I think it really is the end of Nokia, and Android is the real superpower in smartphones OS world. It is just like the Benq-Siemens partnership in mobiles which went horribly wrong.
deal with MS is not small one as MS has only allowed Nokia to change the UI of WM7..

but I agree with you that symbian is going down...
Nokia has also made a new OS in partner ship with intel... Its was made from Maemo and Moblin...

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, there are crisis going on all over the world, people are going for economical mobiles. So over all sale of mobiles have been affected.
We should also consider China Mobiles, they have copied mostly cell phone of NOKIA, it has a great affect on NOKIA too. 40% students of my university have china mobile, 30% buy used, repaired or stolen mobiles.10% have used iphones worth Rs10K.
S.E is 1% in my uni, and only i have motorolla i guess :D Other people have black berries and other phones.
Symbian is an old man and dying out, personally i am also bored of using same layout of symbian from 6600 to nokia N78, NOKIA needs a change.
After every thing, the most big factors which will determine future of Nokia are;
1)Its cost after using MS(MS is money sucking company)
2)its reliability,whether their phones are strong enough to make it to the second hand cell phone market or not.
i didnt say anything based on personal hatred against nokia. It is what Nokia people themselves are saying.

@firestarter: SE has really cocked up everything in Pak. thank God u r seeing 1% SE, after absolutely no sale for whole 2 years its hard to see 1% even...and come to my house, you'll see 63.63636363636363% SE lol. and yes china mobile is on the roll cuz it has made deal with Huawei n ZTE...
