TheNews last Sunday

So we are living in a world where everybody speaks about every other thing going on except the real thing. The people love to talk about entertainment, media programs, political chatter boxes, condition of our country, electricity, weather etc etc but nobody talks/wants to talk about the future of our next generation.

It is said that we are Muslims, we believe in Islam and follow the path of righteousness for our own good will but I think we tend to forget all of our moral values when it comes to Media. The so called 'open media' of current Pakistan is going its best to materialize the thinking of our youth and take them morally to a such a degraded level that they do all sort of bad deeds thinking them their right, making themselves confined in a  bunker of 'enlightened moderation'.

I will catch up with the television later, starting off with the print media, just for an example, consider the picture below that I took from last week's TheNews on Sunday.

Now most of the youth won't even bother to look at it but then consider this what if a 12-15 year old boy/girl watches it. What would get induced in his mind? The Ad has simply ruled out 'the division bell' between the two extremes, Islam and the fashion. In my point of view, first of all the two Ads shouldn't be with each other in this configuration.

Secondly the clothing Ad, is this clothing Ad justified in a newspaper of an Islamic State? What would our 12 year old sisters would make out of that? What would get instilled in their innocent minds? This is just one Ad and their are numerous others but nobody bothers to speak against them.

Directly or indirectly we are inducing enlightened moderation in innocent minds of our youth and it is effecting the mentality adversely (Damn right! it is) and the  time is not far away when we will start witnessing the adverse effects of what is going and happening around.

Your thoughts...? The space is right there at the bottom.

  1. My first question, whats wrong with this combination? Isn't it a perfect reflection of our nation? Such things appear because we think that religion and world are separate. We have started to separate things from religion, like prayers and fasting for Allah and worldly things for ourself. People will go beyond limits of religion in the name of enjoyment and fashion, but same people will also go on Hajj and will say we have fulfilled our religious obligation and now we have got license to do what ever we like.
In some other cases people earn dirty money their whole life, and in old age go to Hajj to get cleansed and after that they become very pious.
In my view this combination is the perfect depiction of the hypocrisy that prevails in our society and inside our selves

  2. yeah that was my point that it depicts the true nature of our nation now, it didn't use to be like this, lets just agree, 12 years ago when Mush came with his enlightened moderation stuff. I was challenging that this thing needs to be stopped, not by govt then us and if we as a muslim nation can't do it then we don't have to right to speak or take action against the people who are doing it...

  3. 2 days ago someone shared a story about someone whole calls herself a muslim and always takes side of non-muslims in general discussions. And when someone askes her that is she really muslim, then she starts abusing that person for calling her a non-muslim.
We are non-muslims who only want to be called muslims. And don't want to act like muslims.

  4. Such kind of examples are numerous in our society now, there was a close classmate of mine who used to do that kind of stuff, he used to say weird stuff about God, didn't believe in prayers however used to offer juma prayer only, he didn't keep all the fasting, only 10/30 but when discussed islam, he used to say "I am better than you" lol
